How the challenge works
A typical 30-day challenge gives you one prompt a day and one way to do it. That works until the first day you're tired or busy. This one gives every prompt a 10-minute version, so a low day still ends with a post.
- Every day has one prompt and two versions: an easy one that takes about 10 minutes and a full one that takes 30 to 60.
- Pick the version that fits your energy that day. The easy version counts as a finished day.
- Days 4, 7, 11, 14, 18, 21, 25 and 28 are rest days. Take them off.
- Missed a day? Don't start over. Pick up at the next prompt and do its easy version.
- Every prompt works in any niche and on Instagram, TikTok or YouTube Shorts.
The weeks build on each other. Week 1 is about you, week 2 shows how you work, week 3 is your opinions and lessons, and week 4 turns to comments and other creators.
Week 1: introduce yourself (days 1 to 7)
Week 1 is about you, so there's nothing to research. If talking to camera feels strange, use the easy versions. No easy version in the whole challenge asks you to talk on camera, and a photo with a good caption still introduces you. For more ways to say hello, see our 24 first post ideas.
| Day | Prompt | Easy version (10 min) | Full version |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Introduce yourself in three facts | A photo of you with a caption: your name, your niche and one surprising fact. | A 15-second video: say three facts about yourself, with a quick clip for each. |
| 2 | Why you started | One line on screen over any clip: the real reason you started. | Tell the story in 30 seconds, cutting to old photos or your first attempt. |
| 3 | What you use every day | Photograph what you use daily (gym bag, makeup bag, desk) and label each item. | Film five items one by one, saying why each one earns its spot. |
| 4 | Rest day | No post today. | No post today. Rest counts as a finished day. |
| 5 | A normal day for you | Post three photos from today's camera roll with a one-line caption. | Film five short clips through the day and cut them into one 20-second video. |
| 6 | What you'll post about | A Story or text post naming the three topics you'll cover. | A carousel with one slide per topic and a real example photo on each. |
| 7 | Rest day | No post today. | No post today. Rest counts as a finished day. |

Week 2: show your process (days 8 to 14)
This week you film what you already do, so prop the phone against something and press record. An artist might show the first pencil lines, a beauty creator the first swipe of foundation. On day 13, anything unfinished works, from a half-done drawing to a first pull-up you're still working toward.
| Day | Prompt | Easy version (10 min) | Full version |
|---|---|---|---|
| 8 | Your hands at work | A 10-second clip of your hands doing one step, plus one line of text. | Three steps in close-up, start to finish, with a text label on each. |
| 9 | Before and after of something you worked on | Two photos side by side: where it started and how it ended. | Show the change in 4 to 6 clips and save the finished result for last. |
| 10 | Your routine, step by step | Write the steps on one slide over a photo of you mid-routine. | One clip per step, 2 to 3 seconds each, with the step named on screen. |
| 11 | Rest day | No post today. | No post today. Rest counts as a finished day. |
| 12 | Behind the scenes of your posts | A photo of your filming setup, even if it's a phone propped on books. | Film how you made one post this week, from setup to posting. |
| 13 | Something you're still working on | A photo of where it stands now, with your next step written on it. | Film 20 minutes of work as a timelapse and add your next step as text. |
| 14 | Rest day | No post today. | No post today. Rest counts as a finished day. |
Week 3: opinions and lessons (days 15 to 21)
If you've kept up, you've made 10 posts by now, and you know more than you did on day 1. You don't need to be an expert to have an opinion, only something you've tried yourself. In fitness or self-improvement, share what worked for you instead of telling people what their body or mind needs.
| Day | Prompt | Easy version (10 min) | Full version |
|---|---|---|---|
| 15 | A lesson you learned the hard way | A text post: what happened in one line, the lesson in the next. | Talk to camera about what went wrong and what you do differently now. |
| 16 | An unpopular opinion in your niche | One slide with the opinion and one reason, in big text. | A carousel: the opinion on slide 1, your reasons on the next four. |
| 17 | What you'd tell your beginner self | Three short tips in a text post or a Story, one line each. | Talk over a clip of you working today: what you wish you'd known. |
| 18 | Rest day | No post today. | No post today. Rest counts as a finished day. |
| 19 | Something you changed your mind about | Two lines on screen: what you used to believe and what you believe now. | Show the old way, then the new way, and say what changed it. |
| 20 | The one thing that helped you most | A photo of it and two lines: what it is and why it helped. | Show it in use and say who it's for and who should skip it. |
| 21 | Rest day | No post today. | No post today. Rest counts as a finished day. |
Week 4: comments and collaboration (days 22 to 28)
Week 4 turns to other people: the ones who comment and the creators you learn from. No comments yet? On day 22, answer a question a friend or family member has asked you. On day 24, film a gym buddy doing your warm-up or a roommate trying your makeup routine.
| Day | Prompt | Easy version (10 min) | Full version |
|---|---|---|---|
| 22 | Answer a question someone asked you | Copy the question into a Story or text post and answer it there. | Film a video reply with the question on screen and answer it properly. |
| 23 | Shout out a creator you learn from | Share one of their posts as a Story or repost with a line on why. | Try one of their tips on camera, tag them and say how it went. |
| 24 | Make a post with someone you know | Ask a friend one question about your niche and film the answer. | Film something together, like a quiz or both of you trying the same thing. |
| 25 | Rest day | No post today. | No post today. Rest counts as a finished day. |
| 26 | Add your take to someone's post | Stitch or remix a post you agree with and add one line of text. | Pick a post you'd do differently, then film your version as a stitch or remix. |
| 27 | Ask what people want to see next | Ask it in a Story or text post and reply to every answer. | Ask on camera what they'd like after day 30, then reply to each answer. |
| 28 | Rest day | No post today. | No post today. Rest counts as a finished day. |
Days 29 and 30: look back
The last two days look back at the month. Day 29 needs your day 1 post, so keep it up even if you'd film it differently now.
| Day | Prompt | Easy version (10 min) | Full version |
|---|---|---|---|
| 29 | Redo your day 1 post | Put your day 1 post next to a new photo and write what changed. | Film your introduction again and post both versions side by side. |
| 30 | Your 30-day recap | A text post: three things 30 days of posting taught you. | A carousel of your 5 favorite posts and what you'll keep doing after today. |
After day 30, keep the pace that felt doable, even if that's three easy posts a week. Our guide to posting consistently shows how to set a floor you can keep in a bad week.
What to do when you miss a day
At some point a shift runs late or a kid gets sick. The challenge is built for that, and the rule is short: on a day you'd skip, do the easy version instead. If the day already got away from you, here's what to do.
- Don't go back to day 1. If your last post was day 15, day 16 is next.
- Do that prompt's easy version. If it doesn't fit today, any 10-minute idea from our easy post ideas counts too.
- Don't post twice in one day to catch up. One post is enough.
- Away for a week? Same rule: look at your last post, then do the easy version of the next prompt.
- On a good day, make one extra easy post and keep it in your drafts for a bad one. Our batching guide shows how to film several at once.
Questions people ask
Does a 30-day content challenge work?
It does what it's built for: it makes posting a habit and shows you which kinds of posts you like making. It won't guarantee views or followers, and no challenge can. If you finish, you'll have 22 posts to learn from.
Do I have to post every day?
No. This challenge has two rest days a week, so it's 22 posts in 30 days. Creators still argue about daily posting, for example in this r/socialmedia thread. For a beginner, a pace you can keep after day 30 matters more than a perfect streak.
What if I miss a day?
Keep going from where you stopped. Do the easy version of the next prompt, which takes about 10 minutes. Don't restart at day 1, and don't post twice in one day to catch up.
Can I do the challenge on TikTok and Instagram at the same time?
Yes. Film each video once, vertically, and upload the same file to TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts. Carousels work on Instagram and as photo posts on TikTok. Upload the original from your camera roll, not a copy saved from another app with its watermark on it.
How long should each post be?
Most full versions here fit in 15 to 30 seconds of video or a carousel of 3 to 5 slides. An easy version can be one photo with a two-line caption. Nothing in this challenge needs a long video.
